Real brass. Not brass-coated, not brass-effect - a genuine brass tube with a warm, bright polished finish. This is the rod for anyone who wants the hardware to feel as considered as the fabric hanging from it.
At 13mm diameter it's the perfect size for a cafe curtain - substantial enough to hold the fabric properly, slim enough not to dominate the window. The unlacquered finish means it develops a gentle natural patina over time, which suits natural fabrics and aged hardware far better than anything that stays artificially bright. If you'd prefer to keep it polished, a light application of brass polish occasionally will do it.

A note on longer lengths For rods over 150cm a centre support bracket is recommended to prevent any bow over time. This can be ordered here.
Before ordering, we recommend that you check your window has a solid fixing point at the midpoint — on many windows this falls on the glass itself, in which case the support bracket won't work for your window.
Compatible header types The Oscar can be used with a slot top header that accommodates a rod of this diameter. Alternatively this can be used with a tape top header. If you are using this with a tape top header, we have matching curtains rings available to order separately here.
