The rod that earns its place on the wall. Solid brass - not plated, not lacquered - with a weight and warmth that most café rods simply don't have. 'The Oscar' is the finishing detail that makes a considered kitchen window look genuinely complete.
At 13mm diameter it's the right weight for a café curtain - substantial enough to hold the fabric with authority, slim enough not to compete with it. The unlacquered finish means it develops a natural patina over time, deepening gradually in the way that only real brass does.
Face fix brackets sit either side of the window frame, with the rod extending across the full width. The right choice for most standard kitchen and utility windows - and the most common way to hang a café curtain.
Supplied in your chosen length. Brass cuts cleanly at home with a junior hacksaw if you need to trim it. Comes with face fix end brackets and fixings.

A note on longer lengths For rods over 150cm a centre support bracket is recommended to prevent any bow over time. This can be ordered here.
Before ordering, we recommend that you check your window has a solid fixing point at the midpoint — on many windows this falls on the glass itself, in which case the support bracket won't work for your window.
Compatible header types The Oscar can be used with a slot top header that accommodates a rod of this diameter. Alternatively this can be used with a tape top header. If you are using this with a tape top header, we have matching curtains rings available to order separately here.
