Our linen-look sheer, finished with a hand-gathered ruffle.

Some details do a great deal of work. A single ruffle of soft, gathered fabric — cut from the same linen-look weave as the curtain itself — turns a simple café panel into something with real personality: a little romantic, a little nostalgic, entirely charming at a kitchen or bathroom window.

The ruffle is our own design, gathered and sewn to our own pattern in our Hampshire workroom, so you won't find it anywhere else. Beneath it, the Midway fabric does what it does best: a relaxed, natural drape that softens incoming light and shields the lower half of the window, while the view and the daylight above stay untouched. It's the look of a corner table in a Paris café, translated for home.

Each curtain is made to measure by our sheer specialists for a precise, tailored fit at your window. The fabric is also inherently flame-retardant, so it's a natural choice for hospitality settings — boutique cafés, hotel bathrooms, restaurant windows — as well as the home.

A note on gather For a flat, screen-like appearance order as a flat panel - clean and modern. For a softer, more traditional gather order at 2x. Both work - it's a question of the look you're after.

Styling note Worth taking the drop to the cross bar of your window if you have one. For wider windows consider two panels rather than one - it gives you the option to draw them to the side and makes the window feel more considered overall.

A note on the heading 5cm slot top - suitable for rods up to 19mm diameter. No stand-up, so the fabric falls cleanly from the pole.
